CoverKids in Tennessee is at risk if the U.S. Senate and U.S. House do not come to some agreement on the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)

150,000 children in Tennessee are at risk.

The SCHIP bill has passed the Senate and House, but they cannot agree on either the Senate or House version, and the President has vowed to veto both versions. Our U.S. Congress members need to hear your voices loud and clear. Call Tool Free, 1-800-828-0498 today and voice your support for providing SCHIP an additional $50 Billion over the next five (5) years.

Below is how Tennessee's U.S. Congress members voted last month:

U.S. House Members Voting YES:
Congressman Steve Cohen
Congressman John Tanner
Congressman Bart Gordon
Congressman Lincoln Davis

U.S. House Members Voting NO:
Congressman Jim Cooper (one of 10 Democrats who voted No)
Congressman Marsha Blackburn
Congressman Zach Wamp
Congressman John Duncan
Congressman David Davis

U.S. Senate Members Voting YES:
Senator Bob Corker
Senator Lamar Alexander

President Bush and his allies (Tobacco and the Insurance industry) continue to impose their political ideology on this bipartisan effort to provide health care for children.

We must not let the Bush Administration derail children's health bill.

Action Plan:

Call Senators Alexander & Corker and your U.S. Congress member, and ask them to support SCHIP legislation that will be VETO proof.

Message:

  1. This is about children. Don't punish our children!
  2. Don't let children go uninsured by letting the differences in the House and Senate version cause a stalemate in Congress.
  3. Support legislation that will over-ride a presidential VETO.

Let's provide children the coverage they need and deserve, and push Congress to pass the children's health bill by the widest possible margin so that it is VETO proof.

Strong votes in Congress will send a message to President Bush and his advisors that they must think twice before vetoing legislation that provides health care to millions of children.
