Health Care Campaign (THCC) 1. Letter from person who lost their health care 2. Training in Dickson and Knoxville this Saturday 3. CoverTN - AccessTN applications are now available 4. TennCare Oversight Committee will meet ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Letter from Mark, who was cut from TennCare Dear Tony, I was terminated from my Tenncare in October 2005. I have peripheral artery disease which only gets worse with time. I only make about $6,500 per year (hair stylist) which barely pays my rent and basic bills. I have no money left over at all. Will I be able to get coverage under this plan (AccessTN). I don't have that kind of money to pay deductibles and premiums. This is not going to help someone like me at all. What is going on here? What do I need to do? Should I fill out an application even though I don't have money to pay for premiums? Will they be helping those of us whom live in poverty day after day after day after day after day??? Can you please tell me who I can talk to or where I can apply to get help? I need medical care as well as medication and I have not been offered help from one place yet. Please help. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Mark 2. Every American would have guaranteed Access to a choice of standard, affordable plans, either buying it from a private insurer, or from a public plan provided by an independent non-profit agency. Employers and insurers could choose to offer more coverage beyond the standard package of benefits. Everyone would have a choice of plans, private and public, that would be affordable to them based on a sliding scale.
