Twenty-nine of thirty-two State Senators signed Senator Jackson's bill, Senate Bill #3424 to provide premium assistance for low-income uninwurable people: *Senators Cohen, *Kilby, *Black, *Bowers, *Bryson, *Burchett, *Burks, *Cooper, *Crowe, *Crutchfield, *Finney, *Fowler, *Harper, *Haynes, *Herron, *Jackson, *Ketron, *Kurita, *McLeary, *McNally, *Miller, *Norris, *Person, Curtis, *Ramsey, *Southerland, *Tracy, *Williams, *Woodson. It passed the State Senate with 29 Ayes and 0 Nays.

This will send a strong message to the federal government that they need to work with Tennessee to restore coverage for people who were cut off TennCare and who have serious medical conditions.

Your state senator need to hear from you, but this time, it is a BIG "THANK YOU."

Thank him/her for supporting Senator's Jackson's effort and for making it a bi-partisan effort. This is not a Republican nor a Democratic effort. This is truly an effort by your state senator for ALL Tennesseans. He/she deserves credit. He/she has done something that is very unique by working together.

When you thank your state senator, ask him/her to continue to work hard to now secure minimum funding of $38 million in the state budget for the bill. ($38 million is in the House version of the budget, but not the Senate version). The differences in the House and Senate versions will needs to be ironed out before tomorrow.

We are nearing the end of the marathon. We have 100 yards left. It is time to thank your State Senator and cheer him/her on to the finish line.
